Q: Tell us a little about yourself! What is the inspiration behind your Instagram page?

Hi, my name is Brooke! I am a former elementary school teacher turned literacy coach turned stay at home mom to a kindergartner and a preschooler! I have a Bachelors in Elementary education, a Masters degree in reading/literacy, and a Masters degree in educational technology. I like to say that I’m very overqualified for my current role! My love of teaching combined with the Covid era is what inspired my Instagram page. During the height of the pandemic, I chose to homeschool my son for 1.5 years (starting when he was 3). Ultimately, I decided to share the ideas and activities I was doing with him with others who might benefit…and that’s how @little.learner.playground began! It has been a great way for me to connect with other moms and to keep finding new inspiration!

Q: We have loved seeing your page grow, and all the fun and amazing projects and activities you share, and we learn so much as you incorporate fun and education into your children's activities! What inspired you to want to be a Brand Ambassador?

Thank you! I remember when we got our first set of KwikStix a few years ago. They were perfect for my son who had some fine motor difficulties because they allowed him to work on his grip and precision without frustrating him. He never enjoyed coloring with crayons but was always willing to use KwikStix! They became a staple on our art cart. They are currently the favorite choice for my 3 year old daughter too! She has a Frozen themed coloring book and only wants to use KwikStix on it! Over the past couple of years, we have enjoyed trying other TPG products and sharing how we use them. I was very excited about the opportunity to be a brand ambassador!

Q: What is your favorite product of ours that you have tried so far?  Can you tell us more about why you love this product, and if you have any tips or tricks when using it or favorite techniques? Is there anything in particular that has helped you blend creativity, play, and learning together and any advice you can provide to others?

The Wonder Stix are my personal favorite product right now because they write so smoothly on almost any surface, wipe right off, and are great for using on vertical surfaces such as glass doors and windows! Writing and drawing on vertical surfaces is very beneficial for toddlers and preschoolers because it helps them to develop shoulder and elbow stability. This past summer, I used the Wonder Stix a lot with my son on our sliding glass door to practice letter formation and drawing shapes. My best piece of advice is to never spend more time creating or setting up an activity than the amount of time your child will likely spend engaging with it. Sometimes the simplest, quickest setups get us the most bang for our buck!

Q: We love that you incorporate amazing videos of your crafts and learning activities on your page! What is one of your favorite projects you have created using our products? There have been so many great videos and posts you have made, and we want to know which stands out to you!

Thank you! One of my favorite ways to use the TPG products is by setting them out with an invitation to create. You’ll find a TPG product on every one of our creation trays alongside of other supplies such as stickers, glue, scissors, construction paper, etc. The most recent invitation to create on my Insta feed is an invitation for my daughter to create a present (leading up to her 3rd birthday). I chose a few brightly colored KwikStix to put on the tray, and she had a blast using these and the other materials to decorate the present! https://www.instagram.com/p/ChtScu9Mivp/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Q: What’s next for you? Do you have any exciting crafts or learning activities in mind for the fall or holiday season?

Oh yes! We’ve been doing some fun apple crafts and activities recently and will begin to incorporate other themes including leaves and, of course, Halloween in the coming weeks! Also, check out some of the fun fall and Halloween activities on my feed from last fall. I hope that every parent who visits my page can find some fun and simple setups that will appeal to their toddlers and preschoolers! Thank you TPG for featuring me as the Brand Ambassador of the Month! I really appreciate the opportunity.
