World Smile Day is celebrated on October 7th. World Smile Day was created by artist, Harvey Ball after his creation of the smiley face. Years after he created this symbol, he felt as if the smiley face was being overused and people were looking past the true meaning; good will and good cheer on the planet. This is when he came up with the idea to celebrate World Smile Day, a day devoted to making people smile and performing acts of kindness.
